
On the 29th of march 1917, just before midnight Mahubah gave birth to a
handsome chestnut colt.
In 1918, Major Belmont ManO' War's owner decided to sell all of his yearlings. So
on Saturday the 17th ofAugust all of his yearlings went to Saratoga and fameous horse owner Samuel D. Riddle bought Man
O' War for $5,000.
He began breaking in "Red" when they arrived at Glen Riddle Farm in Pennsylvania.
And in the spring of 1919 Man O' War was trained at Havre de Grace and Pimlico.

June 6 1919 was the colts first race! It was a maiden race at Belmont Park. His odds were
3-5. The race was five furlongs long, which he won by 6 lengths!!
Befor finishing raceing in October there was no doubt that Man O' War was the greatest horse
of the century. Man O' War won the Belmont Stakes by 20 lengths and then the Lawrence Realization by an amazing
100 lengths!
Out of the 21 races Man O' War won 20 of them. The one race that Man
O' War's did not win was the Sanford Stakes where he was turned sideways when the mash barrier went up,
causing him to place second in the race.

The colt retired as the greatest money-winning thoroughbred ever.(of that time) Which
was $249,465
In the next 23 years he produced 64 stakes winners, including War Admiral and the Fillies
he sired became wonderful brood mares.
Finaly on the 1st of November 1947 at age 30, Man O' War died of natural causes at Faraway
Farms.
